The Restenford Journals #14 (24 JUNE 2024)

Picking up where we left off last session standing on the beach the Jonkheers of Falcon's Rest decided to retire to the Cod's Mouth Tavern . Before retiring to the tavern for the evening they attempt to recruit the young fishermen Rory & Gibble to join them in their expedition to the Giant's Throne on the morrow but the pair decide to continue to scour the beach until sundown when they avoid the spirits of the drowned fishermen. The PCs shrug and head to the Cod's Mouth Tavern . They discover that there are no actual rooms but they can sleep in the common room in chairs or upon the floor for 5 CP. We have a bit of RP and banter then they set up watch inside a tavern because they are paranoid adventurers.     STAY ALERT ! STAY ALIVE !     The next morning they meet up with the fishermen whom they are chartering a ride to The Giant's Throne for 75GP. They are already heavily invested into recovery of treasure from the wreckage. They head out after ...

The Restenford Journals #13 (17 JUNE 2024)

Well it is time for another recap for Restenford Journals. Our party left off in the dungeon below Telvar's Tower in the Ruins atop Bone Hill and rested behind barricaded and then Wizard Locked doors cast by Davon the Magic-User ; we need to get that character a proper title ! Telvar's Wizard Locked door was Dispelled and they have magically secured an operating base within the ruins. Reading through the slain evil magic-users journal they believe he was looking for lost lore and magical wealth left behind the original castle occupants, the  Maure Family  of Magic-Users. Referring to the defenses of the ruined central keep as being a pair of Stone Golems and that at night ethereal skulls which were in reality Spectres roam the halls of the old manor slaying all who enter but that below the towers exist servants halls that would allow access to the hidden vaults and dungeons below the ruined keep. A Ruined Tower and Tower of the Wraith Lord are mentioned as w...

Dwarf OSE+ Dark Citadel Session #23 (13 JUNE 2024)

Well, this has ben rocky lately but fun. We had a few missed sessions and a logistics session previously where the PCs claimed sections of conquered dungeon as their Strongholds for the FTR types thus triggering Followers to attract to the Banner of the FTR types. I tracked down some modified AD&D Charts off of Dragonsfoot for Dwarf  FTR and rolled. The minor logistical stuff was about pay  for followers which I made half of the OSE Mercenary costs. A d3 period of the mustering of arms so to speak and what the Brotherhood of Expendable Strangers planned to do on following sessions. Kind of hit or miss really but my guys are not much into the Discord and with it being Summer everyone is busy with f friends and family. The distances between the sections of the Dark Citadel are becoming greater and greater thus making it more difficult to travel back to the safety of their strongholds at the end of each session. I think this is slowly dawning on them that maybe ...

The Restenford Journals #12 (3 JUNE 2024)

Picking up on our Cliffhanger with the Elf Eldrin hiding behind his mount alongside Davon the Wizard hiding behind his while Tushuab and his Elfin Retainer Afamrail attempted to lure the Manticore away but it declined to follow them and opted for the non moving prey without the Armor that often got caught up in its maw. IT came down to Initiative and was a bit of a nail biter as we missed a week so it had been two weeks since our last session. Plenty of time to worry about the drop of some virtual dice. The Jonkheers of Falcon's Rest Win the Initiative and Light is cast to blind and Fireball is cast to kill. Both are failed Saving Throws but the Beast does not die ! Blinded it wails and begins to ascend whereupon the Falcons are let loose upon it and several arrows are loosed. Ascending out of Bow Range the beast is felled by the tenacious attacks of Tushuab and Eldrin's falcons. This is to the shouts of some Orcs who exit the Tower in the South East of the R...
